[Hawke melts a bit more of the ice with a small, controlled fire spell, revealing the rest of the stovetop, and studies the surface intently. There are four circles on the smooth black top - one of which is still glowing and giving off a surprising amount of heat. There are four circular knobs on the back of the contraption, each with numbers marked around the perimeter. Three of the knobs are set identically; the fourth is set to "Hi". Hawke reaches out and twists it so that it's set like the others. The glowing circle dims slightly, but nothing else seems to happen immediately.]

Perhaps that will help.

It's strange seeing you use magic.

[He has to comment on it, because that's another thing he's not quite used to yet. Although it's a nice reminder that things are different now.

He walks back over from the sink, holding a hand over the glowing red circle. It's still hot, and he can't really tell if it's cooled at all. Hopefully whatever Hawke did has helped.]

We should probably keep an eye on it.

Is it? [He gives Anders a rueful sort of smile.] Well, I suppose you'll get used to it.

[He watches Anders inspect the heated area and nods in agreement with his assessment, leaning against a counter.]

That definitely sounds like a good idea.

Can you do healing magic, too?

[he'll lean against a counter opposite, then, one eye on the stove, one eye on Hawke.]

Hopefully it won't start burning while I sleep.

Very basic healing, yes. But you're much better at it than I am.

[He'll glance over to the stove again now with a small frown.]

Have you encountered the people you share this space with, yet? Perhaps one of them knows how to use it.

So you're not stealing my job, then?

[Because teasing helps, when they've been reduced to watching flat surfaces for fear of fire.]

I'll have to ask. I think I'd prefer an actual fire to cook over.

Not at all. I'll always be better at fireballs than healing spells. You've complained about them a time or two, actually.

[Teasing is fine too; they're probably not going to get that interrupted moment back...at least on this visit.]

[Hawke nods in agreement]

You always know where you're at, with fire.

So there are a few things you don't immediately master.

I wonder if there is a fireplace anywhere in this city at all.

It's true, I admit it. My healing spells are crap. I hope I haven't disillusioned you too badly.

[...okay now we're back to flirting.]

It would be pretty sad if it contained everything but, wouldn't it?

It's a relief to know there's still a use for me.

[...so much for not getting the moment back.]

Then shall we look for one? My dinner is in the sink now.

There's more than just one, you know.

[...Okay, if he doesn't want to weird Anders out completely, he proooobably should lay off but that one just slipped out. Oops.]

[He'll glance back at the stove]

It looks like it's cooling off. We can probably go now.

[And the rest of Anders' ice spell is starting to melt, and the kitchen is probably going to be pretty wet in a few more minutes.]

Ice spells as well?

[He even used his before Hawke! Although he still expects Hawke to be a warrior, so he'd hurried past him assuming he couldn't put out the fire on his own. Not as easily, anyway.]

Would we be more likely to find one down or up, do you think?

That's negotiable.

[Either that flew right over Anders' head or he's choosing to ignore it. As he's hoping to avoid making things uncomfortable between them, that suits Hawke just fine.]

Down, I think. It's more comfortable, anyway.

You were too slow.

[there are many ways to tease someone, and the flirting did make him a little uncomfortable - though not for the reasons Hawke fears.]
